In the book Interrupting Chicken, there are so many new words! Create a mobile to help you learn some of the new words in Interrupting Chicken.

Vocabulary Mobile

Recommended supplies: paper plate, markers, crayons, construction paper, scissors, tape, yarn

  • Draw a spiral on the paper plate and cut along the line.
  • Decorate the paper plate using markers or crayons.
  • Cut out shapes like circles, triangles, and squares using the construction paper.
  • Write vocabulary words on each shape. Some possible vocabulary words are: acorn, basket, bedtime, favorite, goodies, interrupt, involve, nibble, wolf, yawn
  • Tape yarn to each shape, then attach the yarn to the paper plate with tape.
  • Attach another short piece of yarn to hang the spiral vocabulary mobile.
