Thriving Minds: Rapunzel -- Music

Rapunzel loved to sing! In this activity you will do a music activity to explore the story of Rapunzel.

Music Activity

Recommended supplies: scarves or feathers

• Skim back through the story and use your voice to make the low/high sound of ascending/descending the ladder in the garden and ascending/descending Rapunzel’s hair at the tower.
• For example, the pitch should start low and then go higher on the ascent, and the pitch should start high and then go lower on the descent. Practice making these sounds!
• Next, think about the part in the story where Rapunzel sings to the birds. Play Carnival of the Animals: "The Aviary" and “fly” around the room like a bird. You can use feathers or scarves, or any other “bird-like” props to pretend to be a bird.
